Under 18 Accounts
Welcome all youth from ages newborn to 18 to Superior CU. We believe in the importance in teaching our youth about finance today so that they can enjoy financial stability in the future. Our minor accounts encourages and rewards youth for being smart about their money. Simply be between the ages of 0 to 18 to enjoy these perks about the account:
Report Card Rewards
• earn $1 for every “A” or equivalent grade of your report card up to a maximum of $5 per period.
Giftcard
• earn a special gift card on your birthday each year.
Minor CDs
• have the ability to open a 60 Month Minor CD.
• minimum balance of only $25.00
• ability to make deposits directly into the CD in increments of $100.00 or more
Financial Education
• financial education available, see it in action
CDs For Under 18

*Minor CD’s will be automatically converted to standard 60 Month CD when turning 18 and the maturity date of the CD is reached.*
Pete Updegraff Scholarship
Superior Credit Union will award one (1) One Thousand Dollar ($1,000) Pete Updegraff Scholarship to a high school senior enrolled in a full-time course of study at an accredited two (2) or four (4) year college, university, trade, technical or business school.
ELIGIBILITY You or any member of your immediate family, must be a member of Superior Credit Union. (Employees/Directors of Superior Credit Union, their affiliates and their immediate families are not eligible.)
REQUIREMENTS Applicants must submit the following:
•Completed Application
•Copy of High School Transcript
•A resume of types of extra curricular activities including work
•Essay: Can be one you have already written to and submitted with a College Application OR Write a Personal Statement that includes the following:
•One person who has influenced you the most
•Participation in school or community activities
•An indication of how you will use the Scholarship money
***Your Name, school or school district, must not appear anywhere on or in the body of the essay.***
PROCESS As each essay is received, the application containing the student information will be coded and separated from the essay. A corresponding code will be placed on the essay and given to a committee for judging. Essays will be scored based on the following categories:
1) Content
2) Mechanics
3) Style
4) Originality
DEADLINE All applications must be received or postmarked by April 30, 2024. Applications can be dropped off at the main office, filled out on the website, or mailed to:
